- The institution should generally be recognized/approved.
- Loans can cover undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and technical courses, in India or abroad.
- Check eligibility
- Indian citizen
- Admission/offer letter from the institution
- Academic records
- Co-applicant (usually parent/guardian)
- Income/financial documents of the co-applicant
- Decide the loan amount
Education loans can cover expenses such as:- Tuition fees

You can apply through a bank/NBFC or through the government education-loan portal. A useful government option is the Vidya Lakshmi Portal, which allows students to apply for education loans and scholarships. - Submit documents

The lender checks the student’s admission, course, college, repayment capacity and, where applicable, collateral. - Disbursement
After approval, the loan is generally disbursed according to the institution’s fee schedule rather than giving the entire amount at once.
